The Technology

The eye for Learning in its most basic form features two wireless cameras, a laptop, the Eye for Learning Hub (where the video and audio are processed before being sent to the laptop) and a wireless lapel microphone for recording the teacher's voice during the lesson.

  • Discreet cameras record the lesson, feeding the video and audio wirelessly back to a laptop.
  • Designed to be as simple to use as possible, simply plug in two cameras, a laptop, the Eye for Learning Hub and the rest is done for you
  • Video is stored on the laptop for teachers to view at their leisure and on their own or with colleagues should they choose.
  • Once a video has been used, a teacher can export it to a CD/DVD or similar and delete it from the system, ensuring no one else can watch their video without them allowing it.
  • The technology involved in the system means teachers can ask their colleagues to review their lesson without the need for that colleague to be in the room. The system will even allow a colleague outside the room to talk to the teacher inside the room whilst the lesson is taking place.

Although small, the wireless cameras have an excellent viewing angle - as well as excellent picture quality - meaning a teacher can quite easily film the whole of the room during their lesson. Each camera has a built in microphone which will record the general audio from the lesson, such as the teacher's voice when they are addressing the class or pupil responses to any questions they may be asked.

An additional lapel microphone will allow the teacher to record their voice in greater detail, capturing one on one discussions with groups of pupils and individual pupils for them to review their practice at a later date.
